Central Connecticut Region Agriculture Viability Project
The Department of Agriculture awarded CCRPA an Agriculture Viability grant to develop model farm-friendly regulations and policies in 2006-2007. The grant program is the product of Public Act 05-228, which established new funding for municipal open space grants, farm viability and preservation, historic preservation and affordable housing. CCRPA is currently working to develop model ordinances, regulations or other strategies that will foster agriculture preservation within the Central Connecticut Region. Recommendations that can be implemented by the municipalities within the Central Connecticut Region will be developed and posted in January 2008.
