What is paratransit?

Central Connecticut Paratransit, administered by Greater Hartford Transit District (the "District"), offers transportation to persons who, because of their disability, are unable to travel on the fixed route public transit service (CT TRANSIT). The service is provided in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is designed to provide disabled persons equal access to public transportation.

The service is intended to complement CT TRANSIT's Bristol- and New Britain-area local fixed route buses. Persons traveling in and around the Greater Hartford may find their needs better met by Greater Hartford Transit District.

Paratransit rides may, at times, take longer than trips on fixed route buses. Passengers who are able to use the fixed route bus should consider this option. To see whether a trip is possible on a fixed route, and how long it would take, please enter an origin and destination below and click Get Directions.
