The Department of Agriculture awarded CCRPA an Agriculture Viability grant to develop model farm-friendly regulations and policies in 2006-2007. The grant program is the product of Public Act 05-228, which established new funding for municipal open space grants, farm viability and preservation, historic preservation and affordable housing. CCRPA has developed a report that outlines recommendations, regulations and other strategies that can be implemented by the region's municipalities that will foster agriculture preservation within the Central Connecticut Region.
